What we do, and what we ask of you.

1. 1Who you are buying from

   Forbidden Farm LLC, 3229 E. 9th Avenue, Winfield, Kansas 67156. We are a poultry DNA testing laboratory, and these terms are governed by the law of the State of Kansas.

2. 2What you are buying

   Each test you buy is one test credit, and one credit covers one bird. A credit is yours to use whenever you are ready: it does not expire, and it is spent when you register a sample against it.

   Prices, species and sample instructions are the ones shown on this site when you order.

3. 3Registering and mailing your samples

   Register each bird before you post it, and write its sample number on its bag. The number is the only thing that ties a bird to its result, and we cannot test a bag we cannot identify.

   Collect the sample the way the instructions for that test describe, keep it dry, and post it to the address on your mailing checklist. Postage to the laboratory is yours to arrange; a sample lost or damaged in the post is outside our control.

4. 4Turnaround times

   The turnaround shown for a test is an estimate, and it starts when your sample reaches the laboratory, not when you order. We will tell you if a sample is going to take longer than expected.

5. 5What a result is, and what it is not

   A result reports what the test found in the sample we received. It is not a statement about the bird's pedigree, its registration, its health, or its value, and it is only as good as the sample and the identification you send us.

   We report the result; what you do with it is your decision.

6. 6Samples we cannot read

   Sometimes a sample does not yield enough usable DNA. We will mark the sample as needing attention and tell you what we need, which is usually a fresh sample from the same bird. Sending that replacement does not cost you another credit.

   If a sample is cancelled before it is tested, its credit returns to your account to use on another bird.

7. 7Cancellations and refunds

   Write to us before your sample reaches the laboratory and we will look at a refund of any credit you have not used. Once a sample has been tested, the work is done and that credit cannot be refunded.

   We answer every refund request ourselves, in writing, and a refund is returned to the card that paid.

8. 8Your account

   Keep your password to yourself; anyone who signs in as you can read your results. Tell us at once if you think somebody else has your password.

   We may close an account that is used to abuse the service or other people, and we will say why.
